Brian and Emily got married on April 12th, 2019 at Usher’s Ferry Historic Villiage in front of 230 guests. The event was planned by the bride herself, decorated with handmade lanterns and crates surrounded by romantic candles, eucalyptus garland and twinkle lights that Emily says made a big difference in the ambience of the venue and “was an affordable way to upgrade [the] space to the next level.” The boys wore navy and the girls wore burgundy, all with gold accents, that all looked beautiful against the decor and venue. Instead of cake, the couple and their guests enjoyed donuts and Dippin’ Dots ice cream, which were a huge hit! The ceremony was special to the couple because it was ordained by the bride’s cousin and included a special moment with Brian’s son, Jude, and Emily says “it truly was the most perfect day.”
One of Emily’s favorite moments of the day was getting ready beforehand and getting “super glam” in her beautiful Maggie Sottero wedding dress. But the best moment was “saying our personalized vows and having that intimate moment together with everyone we love was the best moment of the day.” Her advice for future brides is: “It’s YOUR day! Pick the things that are most important to you and do that, not because its traditional or someone else thinks you need to have it. Find something special about the two of you (we had our first date at a Mexican restaurant, so they catered our wedding and we had a fajita bar) and include that in your day! Guests don’t want to attend a cookie-cutter wedding. They will enjoy all of the little pieces that made it your own day. Also, remember to not stress the day of. Take in every moment and breathe. There is nothing so big that it will ruin the day. ENJOY YOUR WEDDING DAY! Additionally, hire a GOOD photographer and videographer. Having photos and video of that day are all that you will have when the day is over, so being able to look back on it and see moments you may have missed are priceless.”
Emily had these kind words to say about her photography experience: “From our engagement pictures, to after the wedding was over, [Stephanie] always made me feel like a million dollars. She was always so quick to respond to my messages, questions, and concerns. Steph was who I always dreamed would photograph my day and she did not disappoint. After the wedding she let me know her husband was sick and in ICU but I had no idea the whole day because of how professional and keyed into my wedding day she was. She listened to everything I had discussed wanting and gave us beautiful photos we will treasure forever. LOVE YOU, STEPH!”
